Paris Brunch

{Figaro Bistort in Los Feliz}

Since lopping my hair of last week, it's been quite the challenge of adjusting to the length and styling. For the longest time, I have had hair literally almost to my butt, that having something at the collar bone is terrifying. I have been trying a bunch of new products; Amika Un.Done Texture Spray has been a lifesaver in adding texture, since my hair is so fine, it tends to be a swim cap, this spray adds just enough volume and texture to my hair.
 Decided to show off my new hair at a girls brunch the other day. We went to Figaro Bistrot in Los Feliz, that made us feel we stepped out of LA and into Paris. It was a great break for the day, and the food was to delicious!

Cut Outs for Date Night

{Forever 21 dress I Vintage Clutch I Steve Madden Heels I Urban Outfitters Necklace}

I have been pretty excited about date night today all week. T and I are headed to a showing of "Phantom of the Opera" at Pantages, drinks, and the usual dessert after the show. I haven't seen a Broadway show since I lived in NY, where Broadway and off-Broadway shows were a thing to do once a week.

Not pictured: a man driving by screaming out his window for me to smile..

One Key Lime Pie

{Recipe from Moveable Feasts - Cooks Illustrated}

There have been many different Key Lime Pie's that I have tried over the years. One from using a Key Lime Jell-o pack to the famous House of Pies Key Lime. There has not been a pie compared the one I found here. I have by far one of the biggest sweet tooth's around, and this pie hits it on the head. Its just enough sweet (where it's not over powering) and sour from the lime zest to keep you eating it. I have even become a repeat offender by making this twice.

4 teaspoons grated lime zest
1/2 cup lime juice from 3 to 4 limes
4 large egg yolks
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
11 graham crackers , processed to fine crumbs (1 1/4 cups)
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the filling, whisk zest and yolks in medium bowl until tinted light green, about 2 minutes. Beat in milk, then juice; set aside at room temperature to thicken.
For the crust, adjust oven rack to center position and heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix crumbs and sugar in medium bowl. Add butter; stir with fork until well blended. Pour mixture into 9-inch pie pan; press crumbs over bottom and up sides of pan to form even crust. Bake until lightly browned and fragrant, about 15 minutes. Transfer pan to wire rack; cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
Pour lime filling into crust; bake until center is set, yet wiggly when jiggled, 15 to 17 minutes. Return pie to wire rack; cool to room temperature. Refrigerate until well chilled, at least 3 hours. (Can be covered with lightly oiled or oil-sprayed plastic wrap laid directly on filling and refrigerated up to 1 day.) Serve cold with a dollop of whipped cream.

70's Mini

{Inch Mini Dress I Vintage Bag and Necklace I Seychelles Heels}

I was born in the wrong time period, I am convinced. I love rock music, I love old records, I am in love with pony cars, and I love mini dresses with wild prints. I could of easily been a teenager in the 70's and fit in just fine.

Shift Dress

{Zara Shift Dress I Vintage Necklace I Vintage Clutch I Biviel Heels}

Goodness I love a good shift dress. It's like baby I can breathe!

For the past week or so I have campaigning against pants, only for the mere fact, I could careless than to squeeze myself into something hot and constricting. Bring on anything that makes this weather bearable. This dress is so comfy and breathable that it's perfect running around in LA. It's also tan, I could possibly look naked to a faraway passer by, but at this point it's almost 90 degress, who cares.

Greetican Flare

{Cooperative Top I Mono B Skirt I Bamboo Platforms I Free People Vegan Bag}

I have been on the hunt for a good pair of platforms for some time now. I have a bunch of maxi's that I would prefer not to wear with just flip slops or flats. After finding these little guys, I was more than surprised to find that they are indeed comfortable (can walk around The Getty for several hours with out ever thinking about wanting to go barefoot). I also recently purchased this cute vegan bag from Free People that I absolutely adore.

Denim Layering

{HM Denim Jacket I Dress I Sophia Lee Heels}

Ever since I purchased this denim jacket, I have basically been living in it. I am not ashamed. I did find myself wearing it out on a date night with a loose tee, jeans and some chucks - and I looked about 12 years old. I decided to mix my new favorite piece with something that made me look my "actual" age. Who am I kidding, I still can't get people to believe I am over 16 years old....
