So we decided to take a whole different approach to shooting an outfit for this post. Now since starting the blog I strictly wanted street style photos and was afraid to make it my own. I think I was a little nervous to make it anything than what people are used to seeing on a fashion blog. But, my dear photographer friend really wanted us to try something new - and why the heck now. I found this MISA Los Angeles dress for an utter steal (you can click the link above to purchase the dress), and I might keep this around for holiday parties later this year. Maybe to soon to be thinking about future holiday dresses, but come on, before you know it - it will be October.

Crisp Poplin

I have been a huge fan of "Poplin" since last summer. Being in LA last summer those crisp cotton dresses were perfect to deflect the heat in. I am looking forward to wearing more of these this summer since I am in Memphis, which means a more humid summer. I found this Zara dress for only 13.00, which was a steal seeing its original tag had it for 49.00. I also have to plug this amazing Organic Lipstick I recently bought from Kosas, this one is rosewater, and they are now my newest obsession.

Layered Midi

I love wearing dresses in the winter, but I always feel like it's not going to work. This past winter spending my time in Boston, we faced 4 degree weather for almost 2 weeks - so my clothing options got really minimal. I found that layering a turtleneck under a spaghetti strap dress, it allowed me to feel like I wasn't just bundled in a sweater and some jeans. This dress was only fifteen dollars from H&M around christmas, which was one of the best purchases that month. It's such a versatile dress to have as a staple now.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Mine consisted mostly of traveling but I did indeed get some great food. Going to be enjoying the little break over the weekend, and relaxing with a food baby. Have a great Weekend!

Change Agent

Wouldn't it be nice to have the motivation to wear a skirt and a blouse tucked in everyday? For me that motivation doesn't come around very often or rarely ever. I love skirts don't get me wrong (I secretly love them), but grabbing a pair of jeans and a tee is so much easier for a lazy dresser like myself. I have started though, a more of a grown up look to my wardrobe lately and that has started with implementing a skirt look once a week. Who knows if that is going to stick with me on a regular basis, but I can at least try. This theory skirt made this new rule less daunting, and more fun to try and pair with a striped top.
