Denim Phase

The weather has been cooling off here in Los Angeles, which is my favorite, since I am huge fan of fall. This october we are planning on traveling to Boston so my boyfriend can see my hometown and family. I am very excited to have him see a "true fall" with all the trees changing and the apple/pumpkin orchards.

I have shirt dress a plenty in my closet, but this shirt dress from American Apparel has a more feminine approach that I adore. The tie waist, to the fitted silhouette makes it feel like more of a tailored boyfriend shirt dress than an ordinary dress.

So the weather has slightly been cooler the past few days, which is great for my electricity bill (not having the AC run 24/7). It's been nice to wear a jacket over any dress or outfit, I love the layering ideas when it comes to dressing, Maybe that is the east coast in me, who knows. I found this gem of a maxi midi at a small boutique, and splurged a little. It did pay off for sure, because I have worn this piece more than anything in my closet at this moment.

This top was a birthday present to myself a week or so ago. I noticed that I didn't have any "Professional looking" blouses, besides the ones that I have had for years. What caught my eye first was the tie detail in the front, and then the with the pin stripes (how could I resist). It's a very versatile blouse that can be dressed up and dressed down which I really could use.

Sorry not sorry for wearing these mules again. I mean come on.. they are just the perfect amount of color to help spruce up any outfit, and I am in love. I found this super soft comfy top from Madewell a few weeks back. I fell in love with the front detailing only to run to the register as soon as I saw the buttons up the back. Madewell has to be one of my favorite stores (besides Anthro's sale section, of course). Their pieces are geared towards comfort but have some of the prettiest detailing and fits.
